Take care of your pearls
Even pearls grown with thicker coatings are more fragile than most other gems, so you must handle them carefully to keep them in top condition.
Your pearls will stay cleaner if you put them on after applying your makeup and perfume.
Be sure to remove your pearl rings before applying hand and body creams.
Clean your pearls with a soft, lint-free cloth as soon as you remove them. The cloth can be dampened with water or it can be dried. If it is damp, allow the pearls to air dry before storing.
The dirty pearls can be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution (try with Ivory flakes).
Never clean your pearls with solutions containing ammonia or hard detergents.
Do not put pearl jewelry in an ultrasonic cleaner.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or rubbing beads with abrasive cloth. Both can wear out the mother-of-pearl coating, leaving it with a simple-looking account
